What did I know about monologues after finishing this project. Well, to be completely honest, only slightly more. I had an idea of what a monologue was before starting the project and going from there was simple. I mainly learned how monologues are still applicable to modern situations. Before, I held this view as if monologues were outdated and kinda antiquated. By now however, I have dispelled with this notion.
I chose to write my monologue about revenge. Revenge is a constant theme in macbeth, appearing time and time again. Whether or not said revenge is justified is one thing, but this is part of the mystery of any story. It leaves the discussion open for debate; it is not a set in stone, “one side is good one is bad”. This truly keeps a great story. When the villains motives and justification is just as questionable as the heroes, it creates a lot more realistic of a situation. Almost no one does things to simply be wrong. Therefore, whenever villains in movies or stories do it, it frustrates me.
How productive was a during the production component of this project? I would like to see myself as being very industrious for the first week of this project. I leapt to action completing more than 50% of the project within the first week. From here, however, I kinda became lax. I would limit myself to one objective or task a day, and kicked back. In the end it was done however, so this did not affect the end product. In moderation, even something as chaotic as distraction can be tamed.
Was I on task the entire time? Definitely no. After the majority of the work was complete, I laid back knowing I had a lot of time to finish it up. The first week was very much on task hard work, but after that it became “do a single page, kick back and read”. I wouldn't say this is a bad thing. Distraction in work creates happiness among the worker, which makes them less likely to get irritated with the work they are doing. In moderation, of course. Extreme distraction will lead to the destruction of any project.
